Ep. 23: How to Have a Midlife Crisis

If I say the words, “midlife crisis,” what comes to mind? I always think of a man buying a sports car, or a woman splurging on plastic surgery, probably inspired by watching soap operas with my mom when I was a kid.

A midlife crisis has always been portrayed as a bad thing - as I guess anything that is described as a crisis would be. But does it have to be? I believe that a midlife crisis can be a lot of fun if you do it right! My guest today is here to answer my questions about how to make your midlife crisis a springboard into adventure and transformation on your terms.

Dianne Presley is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience in private practice. Dianne is the owner of Believe, Hope, Inspire Wellness Services LLC providing counseling for individual adults and couples. She uses a strengths-based perspective in guiding clients to live more fully as the main character in their life story. Whether working through anxiety, depression, grief & loss, or relationship challenges, Dianne helps clients to see themselves with self-compassion while reminding them of the innate strengths and values that will help them live with more confidence. If you are ready to make some changes in your life, Dianne can help make more room for you in the life you already have.

With extensive training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy including working with couples through traumas and affairs, Dianne also has the skills needed to help couples using counseling methods proven through over 40 years of research at the Gottman Institute. Sometimes you just need a new perspective and a few new skills that help you communicate better and feel closer.

Dianne has a Bachelor of Social Work from University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL, and a Master of Social Work from Florida State University.

She currently resides in Tallahassee, Florida with her husband, daughter & son-in-law, and two grandsons. She enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, listening to live music, and spending time having fun with family and friends.
