We all have things that we dwell on, cringing to ourselves when we think back to stupid, embarassing, or regretful choices we’ve made. In fact, the feeling of regret has been identified as an emotion we feel as early as the age of two year old.
Especially for those of us who identify as perfectionists, we can really beat ourselves up for not choosing what we realize later would have been a wiser option. I probably should have majored in something different, should have gone to law school, should have started contributing to my retirement a lot earlier. We all have those woulda coulda shoulda moments. In this episode, I am exploring how thanking ourselves for the dumb things we’ve done can be part of our path out of regret and into new energy. Oh, and I mention a guided meditation that was a game changer for me. Here it is! GUIDED MEDITATION - Overcome Guilt

Today my guest is Winnie Bien Aime, Founder and CEO of Thrive Unburdened, a mental health counseling and life coaching company serving some of the unique needs in our mental health space. Winnie is a licensed mental health therapist providing services to clients living in Alaska, Florida, and Louisiana.
Winnie works primarily with teenage girls and women struggling with anxiety, depression, and trauma related issues. Her approach to therapy is one that is holistic, drawing on theories such as cognitive behavior therapy, Schema Therapy, and Adlerian Therapy principles to help my clients work through their challenges. She also recently began utilizing Brainspotting, and I have a lot of questions about that! We talk about raising teenagers - how to understand them, empathize, and recall what our teenage life was like. And, how to support our teens through the brave process of thriving unburdened. You can contact Winnie at www.thriveunburdened.com
Today my guest is Lisa DeLugo, a fellow podcaster who is also a runner, a mom, a business owner, and the owner of Ella-Go, where she empowers women through fitness, health and everything in between. But beyond that, she is a single mom with an active daughter, who started a journey to better health in her 30's, proving that it is never too late to start something new.
Now she’s like us, juggling work, motherhood, life stress, all the things. She is a certified running coach, health coach and life coach. The reason I asked her here today is because her story is one that you need to hear. We talk about advocating for yourself when doctors ignore your concerns. And, how you know when a marriage needs to change. How to start over on your own as a single mom while still finding a way to make space for self care. Pop in your ear buds and listen - you’ll be energized and empowered for the entire day! |
